Title: "FlowerShower: Your One-Stop Shop for Beautiful Floral Arrangements"

Author: Parlapalli Anuhya, UX researcher and designer.

Problem: Customers who want to order flowers may find it difficult to find a reliable florist and may have limited options to choose from in their local area.

Goal: The goal of developing a flower ordering app is to provide customers with a convenient and user-friendly way to order flowers from a variety of florists in their area. The app should provide a wide range of options for flower types, arrangements, and delivery options, and should be easy to navigate and use. The app should also provide a seamless payment and delivery process, ensuring that customers receive their flowers on time and in good condition. Ultimately, the goal is to create an app that makes ordering flowers a hassle-free and enjoyable experience for customers.

Project background:

The app could be developed to address this need by offering customers a user-friendly platform where they can easily browse through a wide range of floral arrangements, select their preferred bouquet, customize their order, and have it delivered to their doorstep. The app could also differentiate itself by offering high-quality, fresh flowers, reliable delivery, and excellent customer service.

To develop the app, the project team could conduct market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and pain points related to ordering floral arrangements online. They could also conduct user research to understand how customers interact with online flower delivery services and identify opportunities to improve the user experience. The team could then use this information to design and develop the app, ensuring that it meets the needs and expectations of its target audience.

Research goals: the goal of the project would be to create a flower ordering website app that offers customers a convenient and hassle-free way to order beautiful floral arrangements for any occasion.

Research Questions

  • What are the most popular types of floral arrangements that customers order online?

  • How important are customization options for customers when ordering floral arrangements online?

  • What factors influence customers' decision to choose a particular floral arrangement or online flower delivery service?

  • How can the website improve the user experience to encourage customers to return and make repeat purchases?

  • How can the website differentiate itself from other online flower delivery services in terms of quality, pricing, and customer service?

  • By understanding user preferences and behaviors, the research can inform the design and development of the flower ordering website app, ensuring that it meets the needs and expectations of its target audience.

Information Architecture

The information architecture of a flower ordering app refers to the way in which the app's content is structured and organized to facilitate easy and intuitive navigation for the user. The goal of the information architecture is to make it easy for the user to find and order the flowers they want.

Digital Wireframes

Digital wireframes are a visual representation of the layout and structure of a flower ordering app, designed to show the placement of key elements such as buttons, images, and text. They provide a blueprint for the app's design, functionality, and user experience.

Low-fidelity Prototype

A low fidelity prototype is a rough, basic version of a flower ordering app that uses simple visuals and placeholder content to test the app's overall structure and functionality. It is an initial, low-cost way to get feedback on the app's design and user experience before investing in more detailed design work.

High-Fidelity Prototype

A high fidelity prototype is a detailed and interactive version of a flower ordering app that closely resembles the final product. It includes realistic images, content, and interactive elements, such as buttons, links, and forms. High fidelity prototypes allow designers and stakeholders to test the app's functionality, user experience, and visual design before development begins, and can help identify and resolve any issues or design flaws early in the process.

Mockups

Mockups are detailed visual representations of the design and layout of a flower ordering app, including the placement of text, images, buttons, and other interactive elements. They provide a realistic preview of the app's appearance and functionality, allowing designers and stakeholders to assess the app's look and feel before development begins. Mockups are often used to refine the design and get feedback from users before creating a final, polished version of the app.
